Flisespikking kanskje, men Odin var (er?) gudenes høvding og høvdingenes gud, selve overguden Tor er tordenguden, Odins eldste sønn og den nest mektigste av gudene. Mange av Æsene hadde flere roller og både Odin og Tor (og andre) hadde roller som krigsgud og Tor er også fruktbarhetsgud. Ty (Tyr) er krigsguden, han rår over hvem som skal vinne i strid.
