Remington 788 bedre en 700?

I have heard three versions as to why the 788 was discontinued.

 

1. It was more accurate than a 700, and therefore an embarassment to the company.

2. They lost a huge lawsuit concerning the saftey mechanism and discontinued it for liability reasons.(den eldre modellen antagelig vis)

3. It costs more than the 700 to make.
