  1. Well, we have done it! Check out the thread in 'Salg' & hopefully, we will be meeting up soon! http://www.kammeret.no/forum/viewtopic.php?f=106&t=44770 Rgds IanF
  2. Hi Helga-Marie, Last year I hunted for Pigs in Sweden. A trip of 1.5-2 hrs from Oslo had us ready to shoot on a nice area. Attractive cabin accommodation and shooting areas lPlenty Moose, Roe & of course - Pigs! Happy to put you in touch if you are still interested. It is great to have some big game shooting in the summer-time! I sat on a stand over a wheat field, and just before dark a small group of females and young emerged from the woods. Watching for a few minutes confirmed that one was without any piglets, a steady squeeze on the trigger at 95m - and the pig was down. In their summer coat, they are not as hairy as the Wild Boar I am used to in England - but all of them were good and fat from gorging on the farmer's fields. Rgds Ian
  3. We have many fox here in England & rather than hunting them specifically, I will often shoot them if out hunting for deer. I use a trail camera to help understand what is moving through an area - these shots show a couple of our visitors to one bait site. Enjoy! Rgds Ian

    A question!

Yes! Our boar do not like spotlights, so we need to see clearly on cloudy nights I found these toys in a garden shop - they are solar powered and come on automatically when it gets dark. They throw a light only 3m, but left next to the feeding place, the pigs soon get used to the dim light! Not very bright - but plenty to shoot accurately. I also think it would work really well for fox. Regards from England. Ian

    A question!

OK, Here's a hint! Now are you getting an idea? Rgds Ian

    A question!

OK, a question for all you clever hunters!! How do you use THIS: to hunt THESE?? No, I am not a mad Englishman - just a keen hunter, trying something different to get success. Rgds Ian
  7. Ah yes, ...... the 'B' team! Rgds Ian
  8. Hey Anders! Nice to see another familiar face - Jo & I are hoping to see you again soon. Rgds Ian
  9. Hey, I recognise these guys! Morten & Vemund were excellent hunters and a real pleasure to shoot with. Their success was down to shooting fast and accurately - we just showed them some of our large deer population! If they are representative of all Norwegians, then we are very much looking forward to seeing more folks off this forum, for some hunting in the UK. One thing, Jo asks that you do not feed her dog so many treats - she is starting to put on weight! (The dog, that is!) Rgds Ian www.farringtonds.com
  10. Arild! Hey buddy - nice to see another familiar face. Hope life is going well out on the rig and the Meopta is still going well. Jo sends her love, sorry we missed seeing you at the AR do - we were busy with a party of fourteen hunters chasing Muntjac and Fallow! Hope to see you again soon. Rgds Ian
  11. Hey, what a small world! I have spoken with Johner & he is is hoping to get over and hunt with me some time in the year! Many thanks for the welcome and friendly greetings - Chopper, relax, you are definately safe...... but your girlfriend is a different matter! Rgds Ian
  12. Hi there, Firstly, my apologies but I only speak enough Norwegian to order beer & ask for a kiss! Hopefully, it will be ok if I post here in English! It will be nice to talk with other hunters and learn about different shooting methods and hunting techniques. Maybe some of my hunting reports may be interesting to you as well. As a full time hunting guide and shooting trainer who lives in South West England, my shooting grounds extend across the country, and hold good populations of Roe, Sika, Red, Fallow, Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer. We also have Wild Boar! We have hunted in Norway many times, and love your terrain, your game and most of all - the Norwegian attitude to hunting and outdoor life. Something that is not common over here in the UK, where we have far too many deer & not enough hunters! Keep well & dream of the opening day of the season! Ian
